Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has announced his plans to criminalize historical “revisionism.” Specifically, Medvedev wants to make “questioning the Soviet victory in World War II” a criminal offense; he also appointed a commission to work toward “counteracting attempts to falsify history that are to the detriment of the interests of Russia.” In Newsweek, Stalin's Children author Owen Matthews explains:
