KEVIN Rudd may be about to enhance his street cred by appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, but he's clueless about the music.
Courier-Mail National Affairs editor and Party Games columnist Dennis Atkins tells how a few years ago he was in "a lazy afternoon conversation with Mr Rudd and a few others at a Sunshine Coast beach".As Atkins relates in his column today, "During some music banter, the cultural icon and guitar-playing Hendrix was mentioned, which drew a complete blank from a 33-year-old Rudd: 'Who's he?'"It's only rock'n'roll but he has no clue whatsoever," Atkins writes.
You know, I so distrust Rudd's honesty on anything that initially, assuming he'd only just said this, I was convinced he couldn't possibly not know and was deliberately cultivating an image as a nerd.
But no, apparently it predates him becoming prime minister and he was just clueless.
